This Salspad craft shirt was made entirely in Sicily, with double-twisted Egyptian cotton in Italy; this raw material was used not only for its superior qualities but also because our studio uses raw materials from European and Mediterranean countries connected with the history of Sicily: it is a reference to the textile culture of the Fatimids of Cairo who dominated Sicily in the 10th and 11th centuries AD The shirt has a design collar (registered model), embellished with a silver 925 button. It too is a reference to the Arab-Norman period of Sicily; the button represents the Kharruba: small silver coin minted by the Fatimid emirs and the Norman kings.
